1876 Wrexham’s Year of Wonder

A year-long programme of events to celebrate Wrexham’s 1876 Year of Wonder and to showcase Wrexham’s Arts, Culture, Industry and Commerce – Past, Present and Future.

Join us, as we remember the astonishing events which took place in Wrexham during 1876.

But, more than that, help us celebrate the 150th anniversary, right through 2026, in a way that’s not simply looking back to the past – but into the future, too.

The Wrexham Year of Wonder Group is an association of over thirty Wrexham-linked organisations coming together to bring you events throughout 2026! All branded under the same festival banner under the guidance and administration of Wrexham Carnival of Words.
