Among so much more, 1876 saw the opening of the new Wrexham Cemetery, out on Ruabon Road. Designed by local nurseryman, and later mayor, Yeaman Strachan – as a burial site, but also as a recreational park.
So, on Monday 25th May (May Bank Holiday), the Friends of Wrexham Cemetery are holding an Open Day on Monday, 25th May.
But, also at the Cemetery, Madeleine Dale, in conjunction with Wrexham History Circle, will be leading 1876-related guided walks of the Ruabon Road Cemetery, celebrating some of the fabulous stories of those who rest in their grounds… on Saturdays 7th March, 4th April, 2nd May, 6th June, 5th September and 31st October.

All tours suitable for Teens to Adults except 5th September, which is for primary school-aged children, and Wheelchair Accessible.
