Exciting Update on The Drawing Board’s Year of Wonder Project
Every Monday afternoon in February and March from 1.30 to 3.00pm, there have been multi-media workshops happening at The Drawing Board. Small canvases have been decorated inspired by James Williams’ coverlet, the Wonder Quilt of Wrexham, and are to be pieced together to form one large canvased ‘patchwork’ to celebrate Wrexham’s Year of Wonder.
The canvases have been collected in, with there being a fantastic turnout of around 60 handed in a couple days before the final collection, so don’t miss the unveiling of the collated end product soon — we’ll keep you updated on this website and on social media. The process of putting the canvases together will begin for The Drawing Board team around the 9th of April.
Drawing Board co-director Jacqui Blore said ‘We can’t wait to put the whole patchwork together and exhibit it around Wrexham.’
In the meantime, you can learn more about the Wonder Quilt of Wrexham and the Year of Wonder as a whole at a free talk on the 13th April at 1:30pm, where Dave McCall of Wrexham Carnival of Words will give a talk at The Drawing Board, 17 Lord Street, Wrexham, LL11 1LS.
Come along on Monday 13th April for fun chats and to learn more!
This event is FREE and there is no need to book.
